Perhaps though the lesson of the holocaust is being lost on a new generation. Once the victims start making the headlines by committing atrocious they begin to appear less sympathetic. Perhaps instead of making excuses or denying the horrors inflicted on noncombatants you might actually discuss reasonable solutions to the conflicts.
How about Hamas doesn’t fight intentionally under civilian infrastructure and then insist that those civilians remaining in situe in a combat zone? How about the Palestinians take responsibility for their ongoing failure to never embrace peace? How about the UN stops making up facts? How about we stop listening to Jihadi produced death figures? And how about (nominal) Christians stop saying Jews love killing kids?
